Why Atlas

Why Atlas fits
kickboxing

A hard, fun workout where you actually learn the skill, one-on-one.

1-on-1 on the bags

A matted lower level with heavy bags. Just you and your coach, no class to keep up with.

Learn real technique

Stance, footwork, punches, kicks and combinations, coached so you do them right.

Conditioning that doesn't feel like a chore

Rounds on the bag and pads build your cardio while you're focused on the skill.

Your first month

  1. First visit

You learn your stance, basic punches and footwork, and we find a pace that works for you.

  2. Weeks 1–4

Combinations, kicks and pad work. The rounds get longer as your conditioning improves.

  3. Month 2 and beyond

Longer combos, harder rounds and better cardio. Mix in strength work if you want.

Your coach

Patrick Rice

I'm a strength coach first. I've trained kickboxing myself and I use it with clients as a hard, fun way to build conditioning and coordination.

If you want to compete or spar, I'll point you to a fight gym. If you want a great workout and real technique on the pads, this is it.

Questions

FAQ

Anything else? Call or text (516) 524-3420.

How much does training cost?

It depends on how often you train and which option you choose. Semi-private training with a friend, the Hybrid Training Program and online coaching all cost less than 1-on-1. I'll go over exact pricing at your meeting, with no pressure and no contracts.

Will other people be in the gym during my session?

Daytime 1-on-1 sessions are private: just you and your coach. Evenings (7 to 9 pm) can have Hybrid Training and open gym members training too.

Do I have to spar or get hit?

No. Sessions are pad work and heavy bag only. There's no sparring and no contact.

Do I need any experience?

No. We start with stance, guard and basic punches and build from there.

Is this fight training?

No. This is kickboxing for fitness. You learn solid technique and get a hard workout. If you want to compete, I'll point you to a dedicated fight gym.

Can I combine kickboxing with strength training?

Yes. Many clients do both. Kickboxing is a great way to build conditioning alongside lifting.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothes and water. We'll talk about gloves and hand wraps at your first session.

Is it 1-on-1?

Yes. Kickboxing at Atlas Strength is private, 1-on-1 only.
